Services
Every service, in plain words
What’s included, what it costs, and how to order. Every service starts with a short questionnaire — no sales call required.
Stuck Solar
Stuck Solar is our sister service for homeowners whose solar system is installed on the roof but has never been switched on. The panels are up and the loan payments have started — but the system sits idle somewhere between the installer, the utility and the city, waiting for Permission to Operate (PTO). Stuck Solar works only for the homeowner: we find exactly where the project is stuck, name who owes the next step, and chase it in writing until the system is live.
What’s included
- A free audit of your stuck project — we place it on the five-stage map (permitting, installation, inspection, Permission to Operate, meter and net metering) and tell you who is holding it up
- A one-page map of where your project stands and what has to happen next
- Weekly follow-up in writing — emails, letters and filings — so there is a dated paper trail of everything
- A word-for-word script for any step that can only move by phone, so you’re never left guessing what to say
How it works
Start with the free audit at stucksolar.com — no card, no obligation. It takes three things: who installed your system, which utility you’re with, and roughly when installation finished. If you then open a case, it is a non-refundable $49 for the work, plus an additional $150 charged only when your system goes live. Cases are opened and paid on stucksolar.com itself.
Medicare Pharmacy Patient Packs
Every fall, the same Medicare questions arrive at the pharmacy counter — Do I need to do anything? Is my plan changing? What should I bring in? — and the answers take staff time that filling prescriptions needs more. The Patient Pack answers them for you: five ready-made pieces, built from your own public materials and services, in plain language.
What’s included
- Counter card (half-page) for the register, pointing patients to your Medicare help before the December 7 deadline, with your phone and hours
- Take-home handout (full page) answering the questions patients actually ask — the deadline, what can change, and what to bring to a review
- Mailer postcard (front and back, ready for mailing) for the patients who don’t come in often
- Patient email — subject line and ready-to-send text for your own patient list
- A short text message in the style of your pickup texts
- All five pieces customized with your name, phone, address, hours, services and logo, delivered as clean, print-ready files
- General information only — no plan recommendations, no medical advice — and every piece carries that note
- One revision round included, if you want the wording adjusted
How it works
1. Order below, or write to us first with questions. 2. We confirm your details exactly as you want them printed. 3. Your five files arrive by email within 2 business days of payment, ready for your own printer or any copy shop — pieces can be on your counter the same day.
Medicare Open Enrollment ends December 7, so the pack is built to be working well before then. If we can’t deliver files that match the preview’s quality and your confirmed details, we refund the $149. We also build patient materials on other topics — flu season, new-year benefit reminders, anything your patients keep asking about.
Restaurant QR Menus
We turn your menu into a clean, phone-first page and put it behind one QR code on your tables. Guests scan and read — no app, no login, no squinting at a PDF. And when a price changes, the menu updates behind the same code: the tents on your tables never change and never need reprinting.
What’s included
- Your full menu as a phone-first web page at your own link, in your restaurant’s colors and style — your items, descriptions and prices exactly as you give them to us
- A QR code pointing to that page, on a print-ready, double-sided table tent card file (printing is yours — the file is sized for any local or online printer)
- A printable paper menu (PDF) of the same menu, for guests who would rather not scan
- Hosting for the first year included
- Updates behind the same code — email us a change and it’s live within 1 business day: $9 per update, or the Menu Care plan at $19/month for unlimited updates
- One revision round included at delivery, if the layout or wording isn’t right
How it works
1. Order below and send us your current menu — the paper one, a photo of it, a file, whatever you have. 2. We rebuild it and deliver your page link, QR code, tent-card file and printable menu within 3 business days of payment and receiving your menu. 3. Your tables keep the same code for good — prices change behind it.
If we can’t deliver a page that matches the preview’s quality and your confirmed menu details, we refund the $199. After year one, hosting renews at $49/year (included while you’re on Menu Care) — we’ll always tell you before a renewal is due.
Bank-Ready Business Plans
If you are buying a business or applying for an SBA or bank loan, the lender will ask for a business plan — and most applications slow down because the plan is missing, thin, or not in the format underwriters work with. We write it for you, from a structured questionnaire and your numbers. No interviews, no meetings.
What’s included
- The complete narrative plan — the business, the market, the team, the funding request, and exactly what the money is for
- Sources & uses of funds, set out the way lenders expect
- Three-year financial projections, with debt-service coverage and break-even
- Delivered as a designed document you can hand to a lender as-is
- One revision round included — and if a lender rejects the plan over its format, we rework it free until the format is accepted
How it works
1. Start with a sample section — cover, executive summary and sources & uses — written from five short answers, watermarked, within 2 business days, for $99, credited in full toward the complete plan, so you can see the standard first. 2. You answer the full questionnaire and send your numbers. 3. Your finished plan arrives within 7 business days.
We never promise a loan approval — no honest service can. If we ever miss the seven-business-day delivery or fail to deliver a complete plan, we refund you in full. That is the deal, in writing. If a partner or referral sent you here with a written offer, the terms in that offer stand — just mention it when you write.
Wedding Speeches & Vows
You have the stories. You may not have the speech. Answer a short questionnaire about the couple — how they met, the moments that matter, the things only you would say — and we write it in your voice: warm, specific, and funny in the right places, never at anyone’s expense.
What’s included
- A three-to-five-minute speech — best man, maid of honor, or parents of the couple — or a set of vows for the couple themselves
- Written from your answers to a short story questionnaire — your stories, in your voice
- Your first paragraph written first, from your own answers, for $15, credited in full toward the speech — so you can hear the voice before you commit
- Revision rounds included until it sounds like you on your best day
- Delivered within 5 days of your completed questionnaire
How it works
1. Write to us and answer the questionnaire — we send your first paragraph first, for $15, credited in full when you order the full speech. 2. Happy with the voice? Order below and we write the full speech. 3. It arrives within 5 days, and we revise it with your notes.
The $15 first paragraph carries your risk before the full speech is written, and it comes off the price when you order; after delivery, revision rounds are how we put a line right. If we miss the delivery date, fail to deliver, or hand you a speech that ignores your answers, we refund you — our failure is on us. If a partner or referral sent you here with a written offer, the terms in that offer stand — just mention it when you write.
The Words Desk — Critique & Editing for Authors
If you self-publish, you are the publisher — your accounts, your ISBN, your rights, your royalties. The Words Desk is the production help behind you: a professional read of your manuscript and careful editing of your own words, at published prices roughly half the going market rate. We never appear as your publisher, never hold your files or accounts, and never promise sales or reviews. We read closely, we say what we find, and we put the fixes in order.
What’s included
- Start with a $25 sample — a one-page critique of your first 10 pages plus a sample edit of your first 1,000 words, delivered in 3 business days, and the $25 is credited in full toward a full critique or any edit
- Manuscript critique — a full read and a structured report: structure, voice, pacing, market fit, and a prioritized fix list — in 5 business days
- Developmental editing at 1.8¢/word — structure-level, with an editorial letter and in-text notes
- Copyediting at 1.4¢/word — sentence-level correctness and consistency, with tracked changes on your own words
- Proofreading at 1.0¢/word — a final pass on the formatted book (copyedit + proofread together: 2.0¢/word)
- A style sheet with every edit — names, spellings, timeline and voice rules, kept per book so a series stays consistent from book one to book four
- One revision round on every critique report, and revision rounds on every edit until it matches the brief
See the work before you spend anything
Two demonstration pieces, free to read: a sample critique (PDF) of a deliberately flawed opening — what we catch, and how we rank the fixes — and a sample edit (PDF) showing the changes and the reason for each one. They are examples of the format your $25 sample takes, done on your own pages.
How it works
1. Read the demo pieces. 2. Order the $25 sample below and email your first 10 pages to prettygoodpublishinghq@gmail.com with the subject “Words Desk — $25 sample,” plus your book’s title, genre and word count. 3. Your sample arrives within 3 business days. If you go ahead, order the full critique below — tell us you bought the sample and the $25 comes off — or ask for a written per-word quote for editing, also with the $25 off. Your card statement will show PRETTY GOOD PUBLISHING — that’s us.
The honest terms, up front: a critique is a professional opinion about the manuscript — specific and usable — not a prediction; we never promise sales, reviews, or bestseller status, and you keep 100% of your rights and royalties throughout. After delivery, revision is the remedy — we re-read and amend until the work matches the brief. If we fail — a missed delivery date, a failure to deliver, or work that ignores the manuscript you sent and can’t be fixed by revision — we refund in full; and if you cancel before work begins, any payment is refunded in full, no questions. Manuscripts over 100,000 words are quoted in writing — the quote is the price.
Amazon Listing Localization
Spanish-speaking customers are a large and growing share of Amazon shoppers in Mexico and Spain — but a listing run through machine translation reads like it, and shoppers can tell. We localize your English listings into natural, neutral Spanish, written around the words those customers actually type into the search bar.
What’s included
- Title, bullets and description rewritten in natural Spanish for Amazon Mexico and Spain — keyword-first, not word-for-word translation
- Backend search terms built around the terms buyers there actually search
- Your product’s meaning, measurements and claims stay exactly as they are — only the language changes, the way a good translator would change it
- Files-only delivery — finished copy back, ready to paste in; we never need access to your Seller Central account
- A sample listing first — one listing localized, title plus bullets, for $15, credited in full toward any pack — so you can review it against your current version before you commit
How it works
1. Send us the listing — or a few — and tell us the marketplace: Mexico, Spain, or both. 2. Choose a pack — $125 for one listing, $499 for five, $899 for ten — or start with the $15 sample listing, credited in full toward any pack. 3. Your finished Spanish copy comes back ready to paste in — packs are delivered in about 5 business days.
If a partner or referral sent you here with a written offer, the terms in that offer stand — just mention it when you write.
Google Listing Fix
For most local businesses, the Google listing is the front door — it is what shows hours, directions and the call button when someone searches. When it is wrong (old hours, a map pin in the wrong place, no photos, a name that does not match the sign), customers go somewhere else and never say why. We go through your listing end to end and clean it up.
What’s included
- Special hours set for the holidays ahead, exactly as you want them shown
- Regular hours verified day by day, and any errors fixed — wrong closing times and phantom “closed” days are the most common problems we find
- Categories checked — the right main category, with the right secondary categories
- Your services listed, with plain descriptions so they show up when people search for them
- Your existing photos captioned accurately, so they can be found
- One Google post published — your seasonal hours or an offer, written plainly, no gimmicks
- A short written before/after report of everything that changed
How it works
1. Order below and grant us manager access to your Google Business Profile — a standard Google setting; you stay the owner, and you can remove us at any time. 2. We confirm your real hours with you in one short email — we never guess your hours. 3. The cleanup is done within a few business days, and you get the before/after summary.
This is a cleanup, not a ranking service — we do not promise higher rankings, more reviews, or more customers, and anyone who does is not being straight with you. We promise the listing itself will be accurate and complete.
Want it kept right? Once your fix is done, you can add the optional care plan — $99/month, month-to-month, cancel anytime: every review answered within one business day, hours and details checked monthly, one Google post a month, and a one-line monthly report. It’s arranged after your setup — just ask.
Pitch Deck Redesigns
Good businesses hide inside cluttered slides all the time. This service rebuilds an investor deck properly: a clear story in the right order, one idea per slide, and numbers presented so they read at a glance.
What’s included
- Your full deck redesigned — up to 12 slides, with the story re-ordered so the argument builds in the right sequence
- One idea per slide, with headlines that carry the point on their own
- Numbers rebuilt to read at a glance — charts and tables cleaned up; nothing invented, nothing restated
- Delivered as PPTX and PDF — ready to present, and ready to send
- One revision round included
How it works
1. Send us your current deck. 2. Start with a sample if you like — your three weakest slides redesigned for $49, credited in full toward the full redesign. 3. Order by email and the finished deck arrives in 4–5 days for a 12-slide deck.
SOP Packs for Small Businesses
Most small businesses run on what is in the owner’s head — which works until someone is sick, hired, or trying to help. An SOP pack writes your key procedures down properly: step-by-step instructions with one-page checklists your team can actually follow.
What’s included
- Three of your core procedures written as step-by-step documents, from your answers and your way of doing things
- A one-page checklist for each procedure — the version your team keeps at hand
- Written in plain language your team can actually follow, in your business’s own terms
- One revision round included, once you have run a procedure from the page
How it works
1. Tell us the three procedures that live in your head. 2. Start with a sample if you like — one process mapped and written up for $39, credited in full toward the pack. 3. Order by email; we write the pack from a short questionnaire, with timing agreed in writing when you order.
Old Photo Restoration & Colourisation
Your family’s photographs, brought back. We repair the damage and return faded, toned and black-and-white prints to full, natural colour — delivered as a print-ready digital file you can print, frame and share. One flat price of $15 per photo, with restoration and colourisation both included: no add-on ladder, no per-damage surcharges. The named restoration services charge $35 to $58 a photo, and colour is usually extra. Ours is printed right here, in black and white.
What we repair
- The full repair menu — cracks, tears, scratches and dust, stains and water damage, fading, and sepia/toning correction
- Black-and-white brought back in natural colour, and faded colour prints returned to their true colours
- Missing corners and torn edges rebuilt where the scene allows
- Photographer’s proof marks removed from your own family prints
- A sample of your own photo first — one photo restored for $5, credited in full toward any order, so you judge the work on your photograph, not our promises
- Print-ready, high-resolution file, one revision round, and delivery within 2 business days of your photos reaching us
- Every face checked by a person against your original before anything is delivered
- Your photos deleted after delivery — never kept, never used for training, never shown as demos
The face promise — plainly
Faces are never invented. Damage around a face — a crack across a cheek, scratches, stains — restores normally, and the face stays exactly the person you remember. But if a face in your photo is itself torn away or missing, we will not guess at it: that photo is refunded instead. We would rather refund that photo than hand you a stranger wearing your grandmother’s dress.
One boundary, stated the same plain way: we restore photographs you own — including removing a photographer’s proof mark from your own family’s prints; we don’t remove watermarks from stock photos or anyone else’s copyrighted work.
See the work
Six restorations of public-domain archive photographs — the damage real, the captions honest. Your $5 sample above is the same proof, on your own photo.

A sharp studio portrait, colourised — every scratch and rough edge cleaned, his face untouched.

A 1918 sepia portrait of violinist Robert Lazarus, brought back to full modern colour — the photographer’s signature kept, as it should be.

A faded 1941 colour photograph of a St. Croix farm road, restored to its true colours.

A torn corner rebuilt and every crack removed — then gently coloured.

Dorothea Lange’s 1939 Arnold children, colourised — four faces, and one cat, exactly as she photographed them.

The full rescue: cracks, stains and spots repaired across nine faces — without changing a single one.
How it works
1. Order below — or start with the $5 sample. 2. Email your photo(s) to prettygoodpublishinghq@gmail.com with the subject “Photo restoration — order” (for the sample, “Photo restoration — $5 sample”). A clear scan or a straight-on phone photo of the print both work. 3. Your restored, print-ready files come back within 2 business days — and if you ordered the sample first, the $5 comes off your order when you tell us. Your card statement will show PRETTY GOOD PUBLISHING — that’s us.
The honest terms, up front: every order includes one revision round — if a colour reads wrong or a repair looks off, tell us and we redo it. If we fail — a missed delivery date, a failure to deliver, or work that ignores the photograph you sent and can’t be fixed by revision — we refund in full; and if you cancel before work begins, any payment is refunded in full, no questions. A face too damaged to restore without inventing it is refunded under the face promise above, never guessed at.

Describe the job — we will point you right
If what you need does not sit neatly in one of these services, write to us anyway. If it is writing, design or patient paperwork for a small business, there is a fair chance we can do it — and if we cannot, we will say so plainly.
